Mikel Landa Wants To Be A Leader in Bahrain McLaren
Mikel Landa is indeed an unstable team. He has defended five different teams in the period 2009 to 2019. Landa’s adventures will continue in Bahrain McLaren in the 2020 season, and 2021 later.
Landa began her career with Orbea Continental. He defended the team for two seasons, 2009 and 2010. His adventure continued at Euskaltel-Euskadi. Landa lasted for three seasons. January 2011 to 2013.
After that he moved to the team from Kazakhstan, Astana. Landa only lasted two seasons there, namely 20144 and 2015. His name skyrocketed when defending Team Sky (now Team Ineos) 2016, and 2017.
After two seasons at Sky, Landa joined the Movistar Team in 2018. Landa collaborated with great racers such as Richard Carapaz, Nairo Quintana, Marc Soler, and Alejandro Valverde.
Landa left Movistar to join Bahrain – McLaren from 2020. To the Spanish daily El Mundo , Landa claimed not to find the desired place in Movistar. Moreover, many big names there.
“I’m a bit overwhelmed at Movistar. That is not my style of racing, and I have to go from there, “said Landa. “I have great teammates at Movistar. The problem is they are not always just for me, “he added.
Landa mentioned Quintana, and Valverde as the center of attention at Movistar. Its presence in Movistar makes conditions a little complicated. “You don’t always see the support you need,” he said.
Landa gained a different perspective by joining Bahrain McLaren. Vincenzo Nibali’s exit to Trek-Segafredo opened the opportunity for him to become a leader on this team.
