Not a Duel since Opposing Khabib, McGregor is Still the Richest MMA Athlete in the World
Irish fighter Conor McGregor has been named the richest MMA athlete in the world today, although he hasn’t played a duel since his defeat to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October 2018. Reporting from the Sports Mirror sports news page , Forbes magazine has named Conor McGregor as the only athlete outside of soccer that has a wealth of activities on social media. 33-year-old fighter is ranked fifth behind the four soccer players who have the highest paid from social media.
The first position is occupied by the Juventus star from Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo , who currently has a wealth of 887.2 million pounds, competing closely with Lionel Messi in second place. Neymar occupies the third position with 289 million pounds, followed by his team-mate in Paris Saint-Germain, Kylian Mbappe, with 167.6 million pounds or Rp2.9 trillion. McGregor himself occupies the fifth place with a wealth of 159.7 million pounds, followed by Liverpool, Mohamed Salah, and Juventus player, Paulo Dybala. The position of the two-time former UFC champion himself was able to surpass his former rivals, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Anthony Joshua, Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez. McGregor last reaped defeat from Russian fighter, Khabib Nurmagomedov , 10 months ago, and since then he has not received a duel challenge. McGregor decided to retire in March 2019 after receiving a fine and suspension from the Nevada Athletics Committee, after a riot against Khabib Nurmagomedov at UFC 229 in October 2018.
But according to White, the Irish fighter will soon return to the octagon arena in early 2020. He also predicted that one of McGregor’s comeback would be a duel with Khabib. On the other hand, Khabib will play a grand battle against Dustin Poirier on 7 September 2019 at UFC 242 which will take place in Abu Dhabi.
