Nicolo Bulega made a surprising decision, this student of Valentino Rossi’s academy officially left the VR46 Riders Academy as well as Sky Racing VR46 Moto2 at the end of this season.
The young Italian rider who won the CEV title in the 2015 Moto3 Junior World Championship, debuted at the Grand Prix in 2016 with Sky Racing Team VR46.
His debut in Moto3 won one pole position, two podiums and often finished in the top three, placing him in seventh place in the final standings when he was still a rookie.
This season Nicolo Bulega has been promoted to Moto2, but unfortunately the tall driver’s career is not as smooth as in Moto2. The first half, Bulega was more diligent in finishing in the top ten positions. His best finish was ninth in Jerez, and was only 18th in the Moto2 standings.
“VR46 is like a second family to me. While I was here I learned a lot and was honored to be part of this team. You could say I was a racer from my idol racer, Valentino Rossi, “said Bulega quoted from the crash.net page .
“After going through the colored season with the same person, now is the time I try to stand on my own feet, looking for new experiences to equip myself as a sportsman and as a human being. Obviously this is not an easy matter, but I have to say that this can be a motivation, “he added.
Bulega reportedly arrived at the Italtrans Racing Team
Leaving from VR46 does not mean that Bulega’s career will end. Next season this long haired racer will still be in the Moto2 2020 starting grid. Media Italia says that Bulega will join the Italtrans Racing Team next season.
“First I say thank you to Rossi, for giving me trust – it’s like a big brother, a friend, a great example. I also thank Uccio, Albi and Luca Marini, thank you for the entire VR46 team that I cannot mention one by one. Thank you also for Sky who has trusted me, “said Bulega.
