Dallas Mavericks recruits Japanese player Yudai Baba
Dallas Mavericks recruits players again ahead of the training camp. They are recruiting free player Yudai Baba. It so happened that the Japanese player had defended the Mavericks in the 2019 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States.
Baba scored an average of 4 points and 2.3 rebounds in 12 minutes during the summer. Prior to this, he also briefly defended Japanese club Alvark Tokyo. He led the team to become B.League champions twice in a row.
Baba scored 10.8 points, 4 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 64 matches in the Japanese basketball league. He was even able to score 12 points, 12 rebounds, 6 assistants, and 2 steals in the final against Chiba Jets Funabashi. The player in the firing line position then becomes the Most Valuable Player (MVP).
Baba briefly appeared at the 2019 World Cup. However, Japan apparently could not speak much at the championship. They even failed to penetrate the second preliminary round.
However, Japan’s journey in international basketball has not ended. They still have to face the 2020 Olympics. Tokyo will be the host. Japan re-appeared.
Baba also has a chance to appear next year. However, before the Olympics begin, Baba must pass the training camp in the NBA. Mavericks currently has 20 players under contract. They will select it to just 15. Because, the limit of players who can be brought to the new season is only that much. (put)
