Suns Manager James Jones Raises Talk about Deandre Ayton
Deandre Ayton stumbles on an antidoping case. The NBA threatened him with a 25-match ban. Phoenix Suns spoke up.
Through his official statement, General Manager James Jones and Chief Coach Monty Williams claimed to be disappointed with the players. The antidoping case does not reflect the standards set by the club. They have never agreed with any illegal drugs in the NBA.
“Deandre has expressed his regret,” Jones said. “While he is being punished, we remain committed to his growth and development on and off the field. His actions are not taken lightly, and we are committed to ensuring that Deandre understands the profound impact they have on the team, the organization and the family. “
Meanwhile, Ayton himself regretted his actions. He apologized to all parties, including fans in all directions. Ayton claimed not to do it on purpose.
“This was an unintentional mistake,” Ayton said. “Unfortunately, I put something in my body without even realizing it.”
Ayton also realized that his actions would affect many things, especially the team. Suns actually have the potential to improve their game in 2019-2020. However, news of the antidoping case made the team fall.
Even so, Ayton will not give up. He still tried to work with the NBPA to follow the arbitration process. The 21-year-old flashlight hopes they will find the best solution. (put)
