The 2019-2020 NBA season has lasted almost 10 months, including postponements due to the corona virus pandemic. Meanwhile, the NBA regular season will be closed this weekend, after the “seeding game” is over. After that, the NBA plans to hold a 2020 Draft Lottery on August 20, virtually.

The competition for the 2019-2020 NBA regular season is coming to an end. Right after all the “seeding games” in Orlando were over. This means that the position of the 14 teams that will carry out the draft draw is also certain.

The league will not waste time moving on to prepare for next season. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, all league events take place virtually. The same is the case with the 2020 Draft Lottery which will take place on August 20.

The NBA still hopes that next season’s league can begin on December 1, 2020. Although it is not yet clear, how the competition will take place later. Do you stick with the “bubble” format or are you allowed to use a normal home-and-away system. But the league doesn’t want to worry about this. The league wants to immediately complete the Draft 2020 process so that teams immediately make preparations. The schedule for the 2020 NBA Draft is planned for October 16, just a few days after the possible final game date of 7 NBA Finals.

So far, there are 11 teams that are ready to take part in the Draft Draw. Of course, the top list is the eight teams that didn’t make it to Orlando, such as the Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, New York Knicks, Minnesota Timberwolves, Atlanta Hawks, Detroit Pistons, New York Knicks, Chicago Bulls, and Charlotte Hornet. Then three other teams are teams that have definitely been eliminated from the playoff competition, namely the Washington Wizards, the Sacramento Kings and the New Orleans Pelicans. After that, this week the next three teams will soon follow.

To date there have been no strong rumors regarding potential first-place players in the NBA Draft. Moreover, by doing it virtually, it might not be as interesting as the previous Draft nights. But there is one player who has the potential to become the first choice, namely Lonzo Ball’s younger brother, LaMelo Ball.
