German famous bicycle brand, Canyon, seems to soon release a new aero weapon. Namely Canyon Aeroad Disc RO65. His name is already on the UCI certification list. Secretly, this bike has also been used by the Dutch superstar, Mathieu van der Poel.
Spy shots, aka unofficial photos of the bike, appeared when Van der Poel was used in two competitions recently. The 24-year racer took him on Primus Classic and Gooikse Pijl, in preparation for the 2019 UCI Road World Championships, last Sunday (September 29).
However, Van der Poel still used the “old” Aeroad during the world championship.
What does the new bike look like? Fortunately for us, Van der Poel uses the new white Aeroad. So we can see the basic form.
In overall , the new Aeroad looks more “dramatic” than the old Aeroad, which has been circulating since 2015. The shape of the parts are flatter, confirms the intention to make this bike more “sharp” split the wind.
This bike also seems to be a special disc brake . The rim brake version is not listed on the UCI list.
When about this bike will be released officially to the public? Usually, new bikes in the new road category are launched in the spring. So around the second quarter of 2020. But, lately, it’s not new to release a bicycle at the beginning of the year. Pinarello Dogma F12 was released last January 2019.
So we can only wait. Don’t be surprised if Canyon will claim this bike is more aero, lighter, and more stiff . If not, why make a new bicycle? (riding bicycle)
